The Realtime docs are outdated.

TL;DR
Realtime docs are outdated, users are having issues using the Realtime class in the SDK. The Realtime docs examples have been updated to reflect the deprecation of client.subscribe and the shift to the Realtime class. A support team member mentioned they are working on updates. Self-hosted Appwrite versions may have issues with Realtime, possibly related to a known GitHub issue.

Can you provide more information on what's broken?

Also, at the bottom of the page there should be a button or form to submit feedback on the docs.

Look at the example code for the Web sdk

client.subscribe is now deprecated

As for this there is only the option to say that it was helpful or not

26 Jan, 2026, 01:36

What's the correct way? (I haven't used realtime myself in any project yet)

26 Jan, 2026, 01:36

That’s what I’m asking

26 Jan, 2026, 01:36

I just tried to fiddle around with the new Realtime class

26 Jan, 2026, 01:37

If you say no, it opens a form

26 Jan, 2026, 01:37

But I’m not sure exactly how to correctly use it

26 Jan, 2026, 01:37

Ah ok good to know

26 Jan, 2026, 01:37

26 Jan, 2026, 17:39

26 Jan, 2026, 17:43

Yeah, I can't help much, I pinged Tessa sooo... do you have Pro plan by any chances?

26 Jan, 2026, 17:43

26 Jan, 2026, 17:43

Ah yeah, missed the tag

26 Jan, 2026, 17:43

I guess we'll have to wait for a response from the team

26 Jan, 2026, 17:44

If tomorrow this still isn't answered, I will notify the team again just in case
