would maintenance interval affect it?

TL;DR
The user is experiencing high memory usage on their server. They mention trying to host Sentry, but it requires more RAM than their VPS has. They are unsure if other logging providers are available. The user mentions using rescue mode to access their server and check stats. They also mention that changing the schedule of various functions and implementing a new maintenance interval has helped reduce memory usage. They plan to check out a tool called Better Uptime. The user asks if the maintenance interval will affect clearing runtimes that haven't received any requests. Solution: The user has already taken steps to reduce memory usage by changing the schedule of functions and implementing a

yes, maintenance will clear all runtimes that have been inactive for the past x minutes... Meaning if a runtime has not received any requests for the past x minutes, it will be cleared

i see so if i execute this lets say every 1 -2 minutes instead of every 20 mins then that wouldnt count right because the new maintenance interval is of 5 mins?

Infinil

basically the inactive time is lesser than the past x mins i think

anyway thanks for the help!

will check better uptime as you mentioned

my memory usage has gone down to 60 percent on an avg after the new maintenance interval and i also changed schedule of various functions so that they dont execute at the same minute every hour :)

with that the swap usage seems lesser as well

hoping it doesnt crash anymore

Are you sure that's because the server crashes?

Does appwrite stats show an spike too?

D5

Appwrite uses other logging providers apart from sentry

not really tbh but i did notice high mem usage from appwrite containers when it crasheed few weeks back.. as I mentioned I was never really able to SSH even though I tried numerous times and just had to reboot but this time i will try rescue mode (VPS) so i can still access my server and see the stats

Infinil

also using better uptime so i can know when it happens

Infinil

i thought it only logged with docker compose config or you mean i can use other providers if i wish to?

D5
17 Nov, 2023, 08:42

You can use sentry and there are other supported providers

Infinil

cant use sentry because vps doesnt have 8gb ram

Infinil

but others i will see

You don't host it in the server. You connect your Appwrite instance to sentry

Infinil

i am talking about self hosting sentry

Infinil

wait i thought most ppl go with that
