True

TL;DR
User is discussing different hosting options and their bandwidth fees. They mention using Hetzner virtual machine with Wasabi for storage. Another user suggests using Blackblaze with Vultr for 0 bandwidth fees. There is confusion about outbound and inbound traffic and how it affects fees. A user suggests considering Wasabi for storage. They also mention subscribing to a YouTube channel for a tutorial. User asks for help with deploying Appwrite on Docker Swarm. No solution provided in the thread.

Seems to be cheaper than Blackblaze in bandwidth terms. In my case it's cheaper Blackblaze since if you use it with Vultr, you will have 0 bandwidth fees

Argel

How so? Can you please explain?

I thought that:

  • sending data to the Blackblaze will be outbound traffic for the VULT virtual machine and inbound (free) for the Blackblaze
  • but when downloading from the Blackblaze, it will be outbound traffic for Blackblaze and inbound (free) for the VULTR virtual machine

Where I got it wrong?

Yes, that's how it's

If you use wasabi, you will have charges for outbound traffic from it to your VULTR server

Argel

Ok πŸ™ƒ

So what then "In my case it's cheaper Blackblaze since if you use it with Vultr, you will have 0 bandwidth fees", means.

With watsabi you have outbound free and inbound free. Blockblaze has inbound free, but outbound paid. So logicaly you will not have with Blockblaze 0 network fees if you want to download that data.

What am i missing here?

Sorry. I did not found this at first. Cool, great info.

I am just thinking about using Hetzner virtual machine https://www.hetzner.com/cloud with Wasabi for storage. I am in Europe, so is the German location ok.

Hetzner is way cheaper, seems to be solid, has daily backups of 20TB default outbound bandwidth, and if you need to increase, it is also way cheaper.

But it sounds too good to be true.

Hetzner are pretty solid company
