Its really beginning to frustrate me, last month I was on Pro plan on Appwrite cloud, I chose the option to downgrade next month(this one) to Free plan, and that’s it, but my project went to “Readonly mode” because I have to pay? Why is there an option to go to free plan if you cannot use it next month? I have been using Appwrite for so long but this past few months are just terrible, I had problems with usage and support didn’t do anything, and now this… I support your work and platform but this is just too much, is there a way I can use it on Free plan or that’s it? Because I cannot afford Pro plan after usage spiked up 10x for no reason and also Pro plan went up 10$

Hi team, need help upgrading from Free to Pro. Currently blocked by payment failures and my app is hitting DB read limits during a launch, so this is somewhat time-sensitive.

What I've tried:

  1. SBI virtual debit card (international + online txns enabled, sufficient limit) → "We cannot authenticate your payment method"
  2. Different friend's card from a different Indian bank → "Provider cannot process"
  3. Both attempts went through what looks like a Stripe Radar challenge (CAPTCHA-style verification box) before the failure
  4. No SMS or 3DS redirect at any point — failure happens before bank involvement

This pattern suggests Stripe is rejecting Indian cards preemptively rather than the cards themselves being declined. Has anyone else from India hit this? Any way to:

  • Use a different payment method (PayPal / wire transfer / crypto)?
  • Get the payment routed through a different processor?
  • Manually upgrade the org and bill me later?

not sure if any CC was used apart from the Debit cards but I've used IDBI and SBI credit cards in the past, have worked fine for me.
