When will we have Appwrite 1.8 build for selfhosted?

I waiting for Docker image of Appwrite 1.8. In while, SDK's clients upgraded and require latest server. Eg: Amazing TablesDB in cloud

It looks like the Appwrite team is shifting focus towards a more commercial approach and giving less attention to the self-hosted version. The latest release v1.7 they left us with is packed with bugs, and meanwhile they’ve already upgraded their cloud offering to v1.8 without making it available to the community. At this point, we should seriously consider starting our own fork or at the very least, begin exploring alternative solutions like Supabase

1.7 was a testing failure - but let's not forget that those bugs all affected Cloud too, and the team rapidly iterated versions to deal with the bugs.
1.8 is full of bugs - it seems to me more like they're releasing new versions first to Cloud, where they can far more easily iterate first, and then only afterwards publishing a release, which should be far more stable.

That's not to say Appwrite hasn't pivoted to trying to make money, but that was always going to be the case.

Actually 1.7 is still working fine for me. Except CSV import is not working. I hope 1.8 will fix that.
Lastly, I just want to know when it will be released so I can update my server.

I honestly don’t mind them focusing more on the cloud offering since that funds the community version as well. What I would like is a simple release cadence stating CE version will be updated 3 times every year or 2 times every year in these months with minor bug fix revisions to ensure all bugs are addressed post release. Then I know when to plan time for upgrade and maintenance while cloud releases already tell me what features to expect.

You could always just checkout the 1.8.x branch, build that and run it on your server

They updated it to 1.8.0-RC1
So the actual build should come soon I guess.

Take long time to test

Supabase doesn't fully release its panel on its own hosting, at least AppWrite does. Waiting a little longer for the release isn't something to be alarmed about.
