Database attribute stucks on 'processing'

It's a bit disappointing to have to create ticket for that while I see the issue existing since a lot of time.
TL;DR
Database attribute was stuck on 'processing'. Developer experienced issues with deleting the attribute while it was in a 'progressing' state. They resolved the problem on their own without any further errors.No more error. Managed it myself.
What was the solution?
I am still on testing phase, so I deleted the collection and recreate a new one. Is it not possible to add the « delete » option for attribute in « progressing » state ?
