<@564158268319203348> , <@462046107556511744> I have tagged you in github re this bug - https://github.com/appwrite/appwrite/issues/2406 (reported 3 years ago) but there is no reply from you guys. I don't know how to draw your attention to this issue, so forgive me for tagging you here. There is PR that might need your review/approval. Anyhow, please prioritize this for fixing as this is a serious bug in a core functionality of Appwrite. Thank you!

TL;DR
A core functionality bug in Appwrite with user creation not triggered after OAuth2 with Google should be fixed in Cloud now, with self-hosting coming after the release of 1.6.1. A PR is ready for review and deployment soon. The issue was revisited and a solution is in progress. Please prioritize fixing this bug. Add a πŸ‘πŸΌ on the GitHub issue if it matters to you.

We had a some doubts on the way we wanted to go about the fix, this has been dragged for way too long. I asked the team to take a look at this again and solve it one way or another.

A PR should be ready, deployment should happen soon

This should be fixed in Cloud now. Self-hosting will come once we release 1.6.1
