#πŸŒ©β”‚cloud-beta , what does it mean

TL;DR
Developers are experiencing a 500 error with Appwrite cloud. Self-hosted Appwrite users have had better stability. Cloud beta may have occasional issues but is not just for learning purposes. Creating a new project instance may temporarily fix the issue, but the team needs to address the underlying problem.

does it mean we should use appwrite only for learning purposes

Unfortunately seems that you're always in the faulty database πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Yes, but an specific database failed, and your project is inside that specific database

Does creating another project instance right now fix the issue for us ?

If you're lucky and the new project is located automatically in a different database, you should not face issues. However I would wait for the team to fix it since you could end with projects that are empty since they could be allocated anyways in the faulty database

I have created couple of apps for my clients and never faced this type of issue

Cloud beta means that the service could not be completely stable. However doesn't mean it's just for learning purposes.

SHADOW07

is there anything else stable @D5

D5

Yes, it's not something usual

Akash Srinivasan
11 Mar, 2024, 13:38

No as of now you can self host

D5
11 Mar, 2024, 13:39

If you use self-hosted appwrite, yes, the stability will depend on you and your provider. In my case I have 100% uptime with thousands of requests

SHADOW07

good point

But sincerely I would use cloud anyways. Those issues now are probably going to be detected and prevented from happening again in the future so Cloud will be way more stable soon. In fact it had a worse stability when it was launched in closed beta, and has improved a lot
