Announcing Appwrite 1.9.7 for self-hosted deployments

Appwrite 1.9.7 is now available for self-hosting. This is a security patch for the 1.9 line. We strongly recommend upgrading your instance to apply these fixes. If you are running 2.x, this release does not apply. Upgrade to 2.4 instead.

This release includes:

  • Appwrite to Appwrite migrations that reject source endpoints that are not public http(s) addresses, and pin every source request to the addresses that were validated. To migrate from a source on a private network, list it in _APP_MIGRATIONS_ALLOWED_HOSTS
  • A source API key check before a local migration reads another project on the same instance
  • JWTs that stop working once the session they were created from has expired
  • Quoted build directories passed to tar, so roots with spaces or quotes build correctly
  • Appwrite Console 8.7.37, which fixes the row editor rendering every array column as a string input

Upgrading from 1.9.6 needs no migration changes. If you migrate from a private host, set _APP_MIGRATIONS_ALLOWED_HOSTS before you upgrade.
